International fruit and vegetable fair Uzbekistan

Uzbekistan is the important player in Central Asian and CIS market in agriculture, especially in fruits and vegetables sector. Starting 1991, the volume of agricultural production has more than doubled.

Currently, over 18 million tons of fruits and vegetables are produced annually in Uzbekistan, in particular 12,59 million tons of vegetables, including potatoes, 1,85 million tons of melons, 1,56 million tons of grapes, 2,73 million tons of fruits.

As a result of optimization of crop areas for cotton and introduction of modern agricultural technologies by 2020 Uzbekistan is planning to increase the production of fruits and grapes – 21.5{79a1d8301988f39a8c3c8f67223bbd83ba5671ad737bd97a5fd6a78f8aad5391}, potato production by 35{79a1d8301988f39a8c3c8f67223bbd83ba5671ad737bd97a5fd6a78f8aad5391}, other vegetables – 30{79a1d8301988f39a8c3c8f67223bbd83ba5671ad737bd97a5fd6a78f8aad5391}.

At the same tim, it should be noted that fruits and vegetables produced in Uzbekistan have unmatched flavor. Uzbekistan has long been famous in foreign markets for its grapes and apples, peaches and pears, cherries and plums, quince, watermelon and melon. In the republic are grown subtropical plants like figs, pomegranates, persimmons, etc.

For this reason, in order to better presentation the potential of fruits nad vegetables sector of the country for the foreign world, the Government of Uzbekistan held for the first time during the period of 8-10 November, 2016 the International fruit and vegetable fair.

During the fair were signed and concluded 270 contracts for the export of Uzbek fruit and vegetable products valued at over 2 billion dollars. Participation in the I International Fruit and Vegetable Fair of more than 300 foreign business people once again illustrated the interest of foreign manufacturers and trading companies in cooperation with Uzbekistan.

In accordance with requests of many foreign companies, which could not participate the I International Fruit and Vegetable Fair, the Government of Uzbekistan is planning to hold the second edition of the International Fruit and Vegetable Fair on 8-10 November 2016.

It is expected that not only producers of fresh, dried or processed fruits and vegetables will participate the event, but also international and local transport and logistic companies will be presented there in order to facilitate customers to deliver goods from door to door.

You are invited to participate in this International fruit and vegetable fair (6-8 september 2017)!
